Roll Bond Evaporators Modern refrigerators and freezers use aluminium panels produced using the Expandal process and roll-bond principle. This type of panel is made of two aluminium sheets assembled by a rolling process. Prior to the rolling, the channel circuit is printed onto the sheets with graphite. After rolling, the channels are created by pressurising the panel at between 100-150 bar. As roll-bond is the ideal product for achieving the best cooling performances, it is the most widely used product in the world. Any tubing pattern you can create on paper can be transferred into a single homogeneous sheet of roll bond panel.

Technical Details Ducts in domestic refrigerator evaporators are usually 5/16" (7.94 mm) or 3/8" (9.52 mm) wide or 0.040 to 0.060" thick panels, with the exception of the inlet and outlet sections which are sometimes chosen to be 1/2" (12.7 mm) wide. The overall inflated height of such tubeways is 0.180" (4.57 mm). Tolerances are cumulative and this should be borne in mind when choosing the detum point. The tubing is integral and entirely inside the single sheet of metal.
Inlet & Outlet Points Inlet & Outlet points may be anywhere on the pattern. However in order to inflate the pattern it must be continuous & at least one tube should run to the edge of the sheet. Panel with single entry is also possible.
Finishing To provide extra corrosion protection it is advisable to finish it by anodising or by powder coating.
